Lewis Dunk – Brighton and Hove Albion
Position: Defender
Current Price: £5.0
Captain and ever-present for Brighton and Hove Albion, Lewis Dunk has been with the Seagulls’ first team ever since his debut in 2011, and regularly impressing in central defence since his side’s promotion to the Premier League in 2017. Captaining the side since the retirement of Bruno Saltor at the end of the 2018/19 season, Lewis Dunk is instrumental to the way in which Graham Potter asks his Brighton side to play and has played 90 minutes in all but three of Albion’s games this season.
With the Seagulls currently down in 16th in the table, Dunk sees plenty of action and his impressive performances have won him plenty of admirers, though only 5.5% of Fantasy users have the one time England player in their lineups. As well as racking up the points through his mammoth amount of appearances and defensive duties, Dunk is also a regular goal threat for Brighton. Following his opening goal against Southampton, Dunk is now the joint highest goal scoring defender with four for the season, level with Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma and Manchester City’s John Stones.
At the time of writing, Lewis Dunk has recorded 95 points for his selectors and finished the 2019/20 campaign with 128 to his name.
Youri Tielemans – Leicester City
Position: Midfielder
Current Price: £6.5
At one time Youri Tielemans was considered the world’s most promising youngsters. And whilst it is unlikely that he will be romping to a Ballon D’or win anytime soon, there’s no doubt that his signing for Leicester from Monaco in 2019 is really starting to look like a bit of a coup. The midfielder has only moved in an upward trajectory the longer his stay at the King Power has gone on, with his silky nature in the middle of the park slotting in nicely with Brendan Rodgers’ style of play that prioritises the ball being on the floor.
And whilst they were certainly far from favourites in the football spread betting odds at the start of the season, Youri Tielemans looks set to be one of the key figures behind Leicester City qualifying for what would be only their second ever Champions League campaign.
The Belgian playmaker has made his way into just 4.1% of players’ Fantasy teams this season, a surprisingly low number for a midfielder that has appeared in every single one of the Foxes’ games. He has only missed out on a full ninety minutes three times, has scored six times in the league and registered 111 points. Given the fact that he ended 2019/20 on just 117 points, there’s every reason to think that Tielemans is just starting to find his groove in England.
Ollie Watkins
Position: Forward
Current Price: £6.6
25 year old Ollie Watkins arrived at Villa Park after being hotly touted by plenty of clubs up and down the country following his 26 goals in 50 appearances for Brentford during the 2019/20 season. The English forward is capable of playing anywhere across the forward line, and is blessed with a wealth of attacking qualities that have made him one of the standout players outside of the top six this season.
His selection in 27.8% of Fantasy teams this season shows this, and with an asking price currently of just £6.6, Watkins represents one of the best value for money signings currently in the league.
He has played every single minute of every single game for Dean Smith’s Villa side as they have risen to 9th in the table, a huge improvement on the team’s 17th place in 2019/20. Watkins has already returned 10 goals in the league to stand as the side’s leading goal scorer, with highlights including three goals in two games against Arsenal, and a hattrick in that infamous 7-2 demolishing of champions Liverpool.
At the time of writing, Watkins has returned 118 points for his selectors and, with fixtures against Manchester United, Manchester City, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea before the end of the season, there’s every chance the forward will continue his hot streak against the top teams in the division going.
